A miracle is what she needs, but instead, she finds herself with a genie who comes with a set of rules. Lacey Linden has become skilled at concealing the truth about her life - a mother battling depression, a house that's falling apart, and bills that are too overwhelming to handle. At school, she's the girl with a bright smile and top-notch grades, but when night falls, Lacey spends her time devising ways to rescue her family.

During a spontaneous trip to the flea market in search of quick cash, Lacey stumbles upon a music box that seems to be asking her to bring it home. She does, only to discover that it is possessed by a strikingly beautiful "genie." He offers her a month of wishes, one per day, but there's a catch - each wish must be within the realm of human possibility.

Grant is part of a group of supernatural beings devoted to helping humans in need. After two years of fulfilling standard wishes, he's on the verge of being promoted to a new position that involves more challenging cases. His month with Lacey turns out to be just as he anticipated, yet nothing like he had imagined. As the days pass, Lacey and Grant come to realize that bidding farewell might be the most challenging task of all.
